We are pleased to announce that the Players have been awarded the
prestigious Cropley Shield for 2005. The Cropley is awarded annually by the
Deep River Community Association in recognition of exceptional achievement
by a DRCA club. In the Players' case the award honours the club's huge growth in the last two years, tied
to a string of successful shows including "Snapshots" in January 2004 (directed by Jeremy Whitlock), our Shakespearean "debut" (since the club's rejuvenation at least) with "Twelfth Night" in July 2004 (directed by Judy Dickens),
our sold-out murder mystery, "Southern Fried Murder" in November 2004 (directed by Kristen Glowa), and our hugely popular homegrown musical "West Wylie Story" in April 2005
(directed by Phyllis Heeney). The Cropley carries with it a prize of $1000.
