Following a successful debut in 2007, the Deep River Players presented the Second Annual "Yellow Shoe Amateur Skit Night" at the Bear's Den in Deep River, Ontario on February 16th, 2008, raising almost $500 plus donations for the local Food Bank.
Five teams of 3 to 6 willing people were provided with one or more props, a newspaper headline, and a movie quote. Then, they were given 48 hours to prepare and rehearse a skit.
The show was hosted by Max Ryan, a Second City alumnus and AECL engineer, and featured two celebrity judges: Anne Aiken (Mayor of Deep River) and Vance Gutzman (Mayor, Township of Laurentian Hills).
