An Ode to "E-motions"

(by Phyllis Heeney)

Good Evening Folks, Phyllis is my name,
I’m in E-motions of the robot, demon, soldier fame.
It’s a great show, and I love to note it
‘Casue my wonderful friend Kristen Glowa wrote it.

She is brilliant. I know, I don’t guess.
‘Cause she can tell 3 life stories in 45 minutes or less.
And without any words, just movement instead
But would any of you want to spend time in her head.

Poor Kristen’s had to put up with a lot
No cello player, and our tangle forgot.
Half the cast has the flue. She’s having a fit
And althourh she didn’t say it, “angry” looks like sh____ (really bad)

During the whole play we’re quiet. We can’t even hum.
Except Pat, who gets to bang on the drum.
And then one rehearsal, my heart was filled with glee.
When Kristan said that we finally nailed “Angry”.

Now, we all look great in our black shirts and pants.
And I’ve almost learned the whole happy dance.
And it doesn’t hurt that we have smoke bubbles and lights
And a stage crew who’s on the ball every night.

And no matter how soon I get to the show
Jennieve’s dressed and ready to go.
She’s walking the halls like a robot. I don’t joke.
Either that or she’s outside, having a smoke.

And people have come and loved this show
Every night more and more folks want to go.
We had our fears and worries galore
When we’d sold very fiew tickets. I think 64.

But now its all over. The set is struck.
We’ve all worked rea hard. This wasn’t just luck.
So here’s to E-motions and it’s creator Kristen
And the great times we’ve had. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss ‘em.
